Confidentiality

Your client's data is not the thing we check.

Lavir verifies citations, quotations, and holdings — not facts, not strategy, not client information. That leads to the simplest possible answer to the confidentiality question:

Citations-only mode: send no client data at all.

Redact the parties and facts, or simply send the table of authorities — the list of cases, quotes, and pin cites. We verify every citation against primary sources exactly the same way, and nothing about your client ever leaves your office. Same report, zero exposure.

Prefer to send the full filing for context (and quote-in-context checking)? These are the commitments that govern it:

  1. Used for the check. Nothing else. Your document is used solely to verify its citations and produce your report.
  2. No AI training — ever. Documents are never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model, ours or anyone's. Citation lookups transmit only the citation text (e.g., "556 U.S. 662") to legal databases — never your document.
  3. Nobody else sees it. No sharing, selling, or disclosure. Access limited to the Lavir personnel running your check.
  4. Deleted on request — within 48 hours. Default retention: documents deleted 30 days after report delivery.
  5. Work product respected; NDA on request. We understand pre-filing drafts are attorney work product and will sign your firm's NDA or confidentiality rider before receiving anything. Note that lawyers routinely engage vendors — research platforms, e-discovery, cloud storage — under the profession's "reasonable safeguards" standard; we are built to be the easiest such vendor to justify.
  6. Transparent aggregate statistics. We keep anonymized, aggregate error statistics (e.g., "fabricated cites cluster in F.3d") containing no document text, no captions from your matter, and no client or firm names. This is how the checks get sharper for everyone.
Try it with zero exposure

Send just the citation list. First check is free.

Paste your table of authorities into an email — no client data, no documents — and we'll send back the verification report.
